Citizens Contribute Ideas for STARS Complex Expansion in two Public Workshops

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 8, 2019) – The City of Fort Myers and ADG Architecture, llc hosted two public workshops Tuesday, May 7 for the expansion of the Dr. Ann Murphy Knight Success Through Academic and Recreational Support (STARS) Complex. Both workshops allowed participants to express their hopes for the future of the STARS Complex.

“We feel that the workshops were very successful,” said ADG Architecture Architect, Jennifer Gloer. “We received quite a bit of valuable input from the participants that attended.”

Topics of discussion included targeting more age groups, programs, technology, sports activities, lighting, security, using the space as a hurricane shelter and parking.

ADG Architecture, llc will take the input from both workshops to create a formal summary. This includes information that was repeated by multiple participants and highlighting areas with the most concern. ADG will utilize this summary throughout the design phase of the expansion project.
